Celso Foelkel has been a dedicated and enthusiastic supporter of TAPPI ever since he can remember, including from the very first days he set foot on campus at the College of Agriculture "Luiz de Queiroz" (University of Sao Paulo, Brazil) in 1967. As a pulp and paper student, his friend and professor advised him that TAPPI, and its scientific publication TAPPI Journal, were "the best quality in the industry ... and a global benchmark in presenting technologies and laboratory test methodologies."
Over the ensuing years, Ceslo became an active and prolific member, authoring more than 40 articles and publishing the Online Eucalyptus Book and Newsletter. He served as a member of the Board for four years and also volunteered on several committees, including the International Committee, Membership Committee, Membership Council, International Research Management Committee, and the Non-Wood Pulp Committee. In 2001 he was named a TAPPI Fellow. He says the magic of TAPPI is its ability to bring together thousands of professionals from around the globe to "develop expertise and new technologies" for the benefit of the pulp and paper industry.Find out more by reading this month’s Member Spotlight.
