In the Spotlight: Glenn Simmmons - The Times They Aren’t A-Changing

As a newcomer to the pulp and paper industry 37 years ago, Glenn Simmons needed to find some place where he could go to access the kind of qualified resources an engineer would need. Like many professionals before him, he joined TAPPI to use the vast repository of scientific and technical data available only to members (there is now more than 20,000 documents housed in TAPPI’s eLibrary).
"I soon realized that to excel and network," said Glenn, "I needed TAPPI."Some things never change. Even after establishing a highly successful career, Glenn advises today’s young professionals, and even seasoned veterans like him, to join TAPPI and become active members. "I highly recommend that young engineers get involved," he said, "but it is essential that we have support and participation from mill management as well." The unexpected bonus? "It’s fun!"
