Hamburger Increases Brown and White Containerboard Prices

Austria-based Hamburger Containerboard this past week announced an increase for brown and white containerboard grades, effective August 1. Brown containerboard prices will be increased EUR 70 per metric ton, while white containerboard will go up EUR 50 per metric ton. The company attributes the increases to current market conditions, with strong demand putting pressure on supply.
Hamburger Containerboard, a division of Prinzhorn Holding, has a total annual production capacity of 1.7 million metric tons of containerboard, The company employs 1,100 people at its four mills: Hamburger Austria (Pitten, Austria), Hamburger Rieger (Trostberg & Spremberg, Germany), and Hamburger Hungaria (Dunaújváros, Hungary).
