U.S. Kraft Paper Shipments Hold Steady

Total U.S. kraft paper shipments in June were 128,900 tons, unchanged from last month, AF&PA reports in its June 2014 Kraft Paper Report released this week. Bleached kraft paper shipments dropped from 9,400 tons in May to 8,400 in June, while unbleached kraft paper shipments counterbalanced the bleached decrease by going from 119,500 tons to 120,600 tons.
Overall, shipments for the first six months of 2014 were 1.4% lower than the same period last year. Total month-end inventories decreased 1.9% compared with May.
