Pratt Industries, Conyers, Ga., USA, has opened its newest recycling facility in Rock Hill, S.C. Myles Cohen, president of Pratt Recycling, said that the new plant, the company’s third recycling facility in South Carolina and the 15th recycling center the company operates in the U.S., will service the recycling needs of businesses, cities, and counties within a 100-mile radius and bring both economic and environmental benefits to the area.

"This portion of the state of South Carolina has historically been underserved by not having a material recovery facility located in Rock Hill," said Cohen. "Now Rock Hill businesses and residents, as well as those in surrounding municipalities, can have access to a recycling facility close to their own community."

The 72,000-sq. ft. building will accept both residential and commercial recyclables including paper, plastics, and metals. The paper collected and processed at the mill will be shipped to Pratt’s recycled board mill in Conyers.

The new facility is expected to handle around 100 tons of recovered fiber and a total of 150 tons of recyclables per day.
