TAPPI member Do Ik Lee, Ph.D., loves science. Really loves it, especially when it deals with paper coating. How can we tell?Maybe it’s his 42 years as a TAPPI member. Or, maybe it’s the more than 70 peer-reviewed papers he’s published and the additional 20 papers he co-authored or presented at TAPPI conferences, including PaperCon. Perhaps it’s the fact that his hobbies revolve around continuing education in latex technology and polymer science.
Or maybe, just maybe, it’s because he cites as his sources of inspiration "ancient and modern giants." His list begins with Archimedes and Galileo, rolls through Newton, Einstein, and Edison, and ends with Paul John Flory and de Gennes, to name just a few.
