Nippon Paper to Raise Board Prices

Nippon Paper Industries Co., Japan, will raise the prices of one-side coated duplex board, specialty board, and two-side patent-coated board, for shipments beginning October 1. The increases will be 10% or more for individual product categories.
Nippon Paper noted that "with rising prices of a number of raw materials and fuels, we have sought to cut costs to absorb the cost increases. However, we have found it impossible to achieve further cost reductions through our independent efforts alone and have therefore decided to revise product prices."
