Södra, Sweden, has increased the market price for its NBSK (northern bleached softwood kraft) pulp in Europe to $950 per metric ton, effective this month. The company cites low global softwood pulp stocks and solid demand as primary reasons for the price increase.
Södra’s four business areas produce paper pulp, sawn and planed timber goods, interior products, and biofuel. In recent years Södra has also become such a large producer of electricity that the Group now produces more electricity than it uses. The company employs some 3,800 people.
