Kraft Paper Shipments by U.S. Producers Decline in August

Total August kraft paper shipments by U.S. producers were 120,100 tons, 1.9% lower than last month, as reported by AF&PA (Washington, D.C., USA) in its August 2014 Kraft Paper Report issued this week. Bleached kraft paper shipments decreased from 9,600 tons in July to 8,700 tons in August, while unbleached kraft paper shipments decreased slightly from 112,800 tons to 111,400.
Overall, shipments for the first eight months of 2014 were 3.5% lower than the same period last year. Total month-end inventories increased 6.3% compared with July.
