Workforce Development:  Addressing the ROI Challenge

Mill management recognizes the importance of workforce development as a best practice, but return on investment (ROI) is difficult to quantify.  TAPPI’s PIMA Division is offering a free webinar which will describe ways to assess the impact of workforce development and how alignment with organizational success can be achieved.  The webinar is offered Tuesday, Oct. 14th, 12-1 PM ET and you can register here.

The webinar will review some common financial measures of workforce effectiveness such as overtime reduction and uptime improvement, but to assess the true benefit, a determination of the human impact on each performance measurement is necessary.  Return on expectations (ROE) will be discussed as a useful tool to identify expected workforce behaviors as a result of workforce learning and their impact on business performance.   

The webinar will also describe the importance of management involvement in a workforce development program, in terms of expectation setting, defining how learning’s are to be applied and desired behaviors of the participants.   question and answer session will follow the presentation.
