IPBC to Focus on Pulp Bleaching Fundamentals, Latest Developments

The 2014 International Pulp Bleaching Conference (IPBC) will take place in Grenoble, France, on October 29-31. The scientific and technical program will include 50 technical presentations divided into keynote lectures from the industry, plenary technical and scientific sessions, and poster sessions. It will address the following topics:
- Novel bleaching processes for hardwood kraft pulp
- Better ways to use oxygen and ozone—toward greener bleaching processes
- Chromophore formation and yellowing of fully bleached pulps—participation of oxidized groups, hexA, and xylans
- Improvement of ECF bleaching by new operating conditions
- Bleaching and purification of dissolving pulps
- Bleachability of prehydrolysed kraft pulps
- Boosting bleaching by new enzymatic technologies
- Better bleaching control.
