U.S. Boxboard Output a Mixed Bag

Total U.S. September 2014 boxboard production increased 3.5% compared with September 2013, but decreased 4% compared with the prior month (August 2014), as reported by AF&PA (Washington, D.C., USA) in its September 2014 Paperboard Report released this past week. Unbleached kraft boxboard production increased over the same month last year but decreased compared with the prior month.
Total solid bleached boxboard and liner production increased compared with September 2013 but decreased compared with the prior month. The production of recycled boxboard decreased compared with September 2013 and also decreased compared with August 2013.
