U.S. Producers Increase Kraft Paper Shipments

Kraft paper shipments by U.S. producers in September 2014 totaled 126,800 tons, 5.6% higher than the previous month, according to the AF&PA (Washington, D.C., USA) September 2014 Kraft Paper Sector Report issued this past week. Bleached kraft paper shipments increased from 8,700 tons in August to 11,400 tons in September, while unbleached kraft paper shipments increased from 111,400 tons to 115,400 tons.
Overall, shipments for the first nine months of 2014 were 3.1% lower than the same period last year. Total month-end inventories decreased 1.2% compared with August.
