Catalyst Reports Fatality at Crofton Mill

Catalyst Paper, Richmond, B.C., Canada, reports that this past week a contract truck driver was fatally injured while working at its Crofton mill on Vancouver Island, B.C., Canada. The contract truck driver was delivering wood chips to the mill when he was discovered missing by mill personnel. 
 
The mill activated its Emergency Response Plan, and the RCMP and WorkSafe BC were promptly contacted to launch an investigation at the site. 
 
WorkSafe BC is leading an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident to determine cause. The RCMP and the Coroner's Office are also investigating. The mill is fully supporting the investigations.
