C&S Paper, Yanfu, China, has achieved record speed with its Andritz (Graz, Austria) PrimeLineST tissue machine that was initially started up at the beginning of 2014. The machine recently achieved an operating speed of 1,800 m/min. the mill reports, setting a world speed record for a tissue machines with a steam-heated hood.
Also recently, a second tissue machine supplied by Andritz to C&S Paper Yunfu has successfully started up. The new machine has a steel yankee and a design speed of 1,900 m/min. (5.56 meter width).
PrimeLineST tissue machines were designed to reduce drying costs, Andritz notes. The entire drying process uses steam only. The high-precision steel yankee—combined with a steam-heated hood—delivers high throughput and excellent runnability, as well as significant cost savings by operating with comparatively cheap steam, according to Andritz, adding that, thanks to the steel yankee and the fully integrated heat recovery system, steam consumption is well below the levels required by similar machines.
