Gapcon, Germany, an engineering company offering services to paper companies, is considering expanding in India. According to Wolfgang Mark, director, Gapcon Engineering, the company’s "turnover is about EUR 40 million and around 15% of sales is in India. India is a growing market and we want to double the sales over the next five years."
Gapcon currently has a service workshop at Kalyani in West Bengal. To expand, the company is planning to offer services to large size paper producers.
Mark added that "the paper industry at the moment is not doing well, but we expect it to recover. We are not immediately looking to expand into other parts of India, but if demand picks up, we can expand at our facility in Kalyani."
