Brunton Publications Ltd., Salisbury, U.K., Packaging Portal website reported earlier this week that Mansfield Board Machinery Ltd., Northampton, U.K. has recently expanded. Effectively doubling their facility, the adjoining new premises now provides additional warehousing, offices, parking, and better loading, while also freeing up existing workshop space for more machinery and equipment.
As a major supplier of knives, tooling parts, and equipment for the corrugated industry, Ian Mansfield, managing director, reports that "this expansion comes just in time, as continued steady growth in sales and customers has made us reach the limits of the original factory. This latest development is part of our on-going strategy to help increase our market share and provide our customers the highest standard of service and products we possibly can."
The success of the U.K. and Western Europe’s corrugated industry comes seemingly as a result of more social as well as economic focus on sustainable packaging in this economic region. Generally, these products are made from wood pulp and are either entirely compostable in raw corrugated media or more harmlessly degradable in sustainable commercial packaging than plastic counterparts.
