DS Smith Starts New Web Inspection System for PM at Kemsley

 

DS Smith, London, U.K., has successfully started up the new Procemex (Jyskä, Finland) TWIN system at its domestic facility (photo). The company began operation of the Procemex TWIN combined Web Monitoring and Web Inspection System on PM 4 at its Kemsley Paper Mill site this past week.

 

The TWIN system includes 18 Web Monitoring cameras, a web inspection beam, code marker, code reader, and winder automatic target control (ATC).

 

Since startup, the system has been helping locate break origins and root causes, as well as reportedly improving winder throughput. More information can be obtained about the Procemex system by contacting Jari Karanen.
