Shipments of U.S. Kraft Paper Decline

January shipments by U.S. kraft paper producers totaled 124.400 tons, 3.1% lower than December 2014, AF&PA (Washington, D.C., USA) reports in its January 2015 Kraft Paper Report issued this past week. Bleached kraft paper shipments decreased slightly to 9,400 tons compared with December’s 9,700 tons, while unbleached kraft paper shipments decreased from 118,700 tons to 115,000 tons.
Overall, shipments for the first month of 2015 were 6.3% lower than January 2014. Total month-end inventories increased to 83,300 tons.
