In the Spotlight: Dr. Larry Anker - Pinning Down a Great Career

 

Wet end chemist Larry Anker, Ph.D., has been an active TAPPI member for more than 20 years. During that time, he has volunteered on numerous committees, chaired sessions, published and presented papers, and taught webinars and courses. For the past year, he has also served as Steering Committee Chair for TAPPI’s 100th Anniversary Celebration.

He attributes his active engagement to the companies he’s worked with over the years. Their support was key to his participation, he contends. "As with any volunteer organization, you get out what you put into it." And Dr. Anker puts a lot of energy and drive into everything he does, which may be attributable to the many years he spent as a wrestler. A top scholar athlete in both his high school and collegiate divisions, he still holds records at Washington and Lee, his college alma mater.
