Crown Paper Group Names Fernie President of Crown Packaging Co.

Crown Paper Group Inc., Atlanta, Ga., USA, has named Colin Fernie president – Crown Packaging Co. In this role, Fernie is responsible for the Crown Packaging plant and the Boxmaster packaging plant, both in Vancouver B.C., Canada, and distribution centers in Kelowna, B.C. and Calgary, AB, Canada. He succeeds Joe Beers, who is leaving the company to pursue other interests.

He is a perfect fit for the business that Crown Paper Group is building," said Crown Paper Group CEO Steve Klinger.
Fernie previously served as president of Canada-based Western Concord, a flexible packaging manufacturer; and as VP and GM of Smurfit-MBI, the Canadian packaging division of Smurfit-Stone. He has served as chairman of the Paper Packaging Canada trade association, and director of the Canadian Corrugated Case Association.

Crown Packaging, Boxmaster, and their primary supplier, the Port Townsend Paper mill in Port Townsend, Wash., USA, were acquired in February 2015 by Crown Paper Group.
