Georgia Tech, Atlanta, Ga., USA, and the Renewable Bioproducts Institute (formerly IPST) are introducing an online graduate education opportunity for professionals in manufacturing leadership. The post-graduate coursework is designed for those who aspire to manufacturing leadership positions; collectively, the courses will prepare students for the responsibilities of such roles. Topics include manufacturing best practices, business and management, and leadership, as well as an elective concentration. Forest bioproducts is the first concentration to be offered. A chemical manufacturing concentration is expected for 2016.

Onsite participation for the manufacturing leadership courses is minimal, with students only needing to be on the Atlanta campus one week each year and for the final week of studies (three weeks total). The remainder of the coursework takes place online, enabling students to continue their professional responsibilities while enrolled.

Initial course offerings begin this fall. Upon approval by the Georgia Board of Regents, the courses may lead to a professional master’s degree in manufacturing leadership.

Applications for fall 2015 courses are due June 30 and will require an undergraduate transcript and letters of recommendation. A limited number of fellowships is available for the first year of the two-year suite of courses.

For more details, please visit Georgia Tech’s manufacturing leadership website or contact Chris Luettgen, director-Industry Strategic Partnerships, at 404-894 6908, as soon as possible.
