Relyco, Dover, N.H., USA, this week announced the addition of TriDura durable, water-tolerant, tear-resistant paper to its line of durable papers. TriDura is designed for applications that require greater durability than what is available with traditional paper, but do not need all the advantages of Revlar, a synthetic, waterproof paper. In addition, unlike other synthetic papers, TriDura is fully inkjet, laser, and digital compatible and is also ideal for flexo, litho offset, and UV printing, the company notes.
"According to analysis by InfoTrends, production color inkjet accounted for 31% of all production digital color volume in 2012, but it will top 59% by 2018," said Bruce Steinberg, Relyco president. "As inkjet volume grows to exceed that of toner, customers in industries like travel and tourism, healthcare, retail, and education who rely on production color inkjet will explore new applications that require the durability of synthetic paper. We're excited to be able to respond to that demand with the introduction of TriDura, which is also versatile enough to be used across the print spectrum, including with laser, digital, and offset printers."
TriDura offers the image quality, appearance, and printability of standard paper and the durability and resilience of synthetic paper. Like traditional paper, TriDura can be folded, punched, glued, perforated, scored, or die cut as needed. It can be used for thousands of applications, including signage, displays, menus, tickets, manuals, maps, bookmarks, and postcards.
TriDura is available in matte white, 8.5 in. x 11 in. and 12 in. x 18 in. sheets and comes in three weights: 4 mil., 7 mil., and 9 mil. More information, including instructions on how to order, is available online.
