In the Spotlight: Charles Bohanan - New Horizons

 

TAPPI’s Director of Standards and Awards Charles Bohanan has announced he will retire this August. Charles first came to TAPPI in 1975. He applied for a job as a technical editor after working as a chemist for a local Atlanta manufacturing firm. He became a member in 1982.

Charles served in a number of positions throughout his 40 years with TAPPI. His favorite role?--interacting with members and staff. He said that part of his long and satisfying career will be the one he misses most. "I am fortunate to have received so many opportunities through TAPPI for career growth, travel, and interactions with so many of our talented and generous volunteers," he said. Charles has witnessed much change in the industry over the years, but feels it is still a strong one. "The world will never truly go ‘paperless’," he noted.
