Arctic Paper, Poland, is selling its Mochenwangen mill in south Germany, which has a production capacity of some 100,000 metric tpy of specialty papers. The company also is evaluating other measures and options to reduce or shut down production at Mochenwangen.

Mochenwangen is an integrated mill that produces book printing paper, offset paper, wall base paper, and backing paper on two paper machines. The two machines have a total production capacity of around 100,000 metric tpy. The mill has about 180 employees.

The plans for Mochenwangen are part of Arctic Paper's profit improvement program, which is designed to reduce costs by not less than PLN 50million (EUR12million) per year. The company expects that the elimination of losses caused by the German site will positively impact its consolidated results by PLN 18million (EUR 4.3million) this year.
