Mohawk Fine Paper, Cohoes, N.Y., USA, this past week held a grand opening at the company's new envelope converting facility in South Hadley, Mass., USA. The new center features enough converting capacity to service the company's East Coast, Mid-Atlantic, and European customers according to a Mohawk release. The facility has been mechanically operational since May and to date has hired 16 employees with plans to hire 40 more as the center expects to produce a capacity of 500 million envelopes per year.

On hand were 35-40 local community leaders, including state political representatives and community members who attended the event. Mohawk Chairman and CEO Tom O’Connor attended the event and spoke, as did Mohawk’s SVP of Strategy and Business Operations Bob Scammell along with several leaders of the South Hadley business community and the regional director of the U.S. Postal Service.
