U.S. Kraft Paper Shipments Rise in August

Total U.S. kraft paper shipments in August were 143,600 short tons, 7.8% higher than in August 2014, according to the AF&PA (Washington, D.C., USA) August 2015 Kraft Paper Report released this week. Bleached kraft paper shipments increased slightly from 8,600 tons in July 2015 to 8,700 tons in August, while unbleached kraft paper decreased from 138,600 to 134,900 short tons.
Overall, year-to-date shipments up to August 2015 were 1.8% higher compared with the same period in 2014. Total month-end inventories decreased to 73,600 short tons.
