Futura, Lucca, Italy, reports that it has received several orders for Andromeda high performance tissue converting lines after the highly successful Andromeda Showcase at iT’s Tissue this summer in Lucca. Andromeda was demonstrated for the first time in its complete form in FuturaLab during the week-long iT's Tissue event.
According to Head of Technology and Futura Lab Director Giovacchino Giurlani, the Andromeda concept represents a complete new converting solution that redraws the boundaries for tissue roll products converting. "Andromeda is clearly a better way to make roll products. Its innovations draw on the experiences and lessons of the past 13 years since Futura was born, and of the multi-disciplinary team at Futura whose knowledge and wisdom goes far further back than that. in all of the key areas—process continuity, overall equipment effectiveness, safety, productivity, layout, manpower reduction and finished product quality—we could demonstrate that Andromeda has set a new benchmark," Giurlani said.
Piero Ceccon, head of sales and VP of international operations, added that "seeing is believing,
because as a direct result we are very pleased to announce that several new lines based on the Andromeda concept will be delivered in the coming 12 months."
Although specific locations and companies cannot yet be disclosed, Futura noted that one of the new lines will be in Europe and at least two in North America. Several others will be in as-yet undisclosed locations.
