Smurfit Kappa's (Ireland) commitment to delivering excellent print and packaging solutions to customers has once again been demonstrated, with its Irish operations recently receiving three accolades in one week at the Irish Print Awards and the Checkout National Retail Supplier Awards. The wins include a Best Packaging/Design Services Provider award for work with Greene Farm Foods, Screen Printer of the Year for a creation for Largo Foods, and National Newspaper Printer of the Year for its work with the Financial Times.
At the Checkout National Retail Supplier Awards, Smurfit Kappa Dublin saw success with a truly innovative SRP transport case solution that optimized logistics, reduced costs, and increased visibility for its customer Greene Farm Foods. Greene Farm achieved a total reduction in packaging costs of 20%, as well as reducing overseas imports through local production.
The team at Smurfit Kappa Display was honored at the National Print Awards for the Largo Foods Tayto Ibiza Impulse display unit, which, through focus on innovation and design, increased product visibility at the point-of-sale. The Tayto team said that "Smurfit Kappa proposed a display design that combined all of the on-pack elements but with a stand out header that contained LED lights. The LED lights were relatable to the Ibiza promotion, increased visibility and stand out in trade, and gained consumer traction in-store, which can be a cluttered environment. The LED lights were a simple but brilliant solution, and the display unit met all of our objectives."
Also at the National Print Awards, Smurfit Kappa News Press was awarded National Newspaper Printer of the Year for its entry with the Financial Times. Smurfit Kappa News Press works closely with the Financial Times to deliver a product that upholds the high quality of the prestigious newspaper. In awarding The National Newspaper Printer of the Year title, the judges recognized the degree of difficulty, level of execution, and consistency in print and finishing demonstrated by Smurfit Kappa.
John O'Loughlin, CEO of Smurfit Kappa Ireland, said that "it's an honor to achieve these three awards on our home turf and one that the teams involved are truly proud of. At Smurfit Kappa, we have an unrivalled portfolio of unique tools, combined with creative thinking and expertise, enabling us to support our customers' business success. Our approach cements our position as the partner of choice for businesses in a broad range of sectors."
