North American P&W Paper Demand Down in January

North American printing and writing (P&W) paper demand was down 5.9% y/y in January 2016. Demand for coated mechanical grades plunged a total of 18%, according to the Pulp and Paper Products Council (PPPC). The following table shows North American P&W paper statistics for January 2016 and for the prior 12 months, in terms of operating rates, total shipments, and total demand for the various grades.
