APRIL Group (Indonesia) announced it had agreed on Tuesday (April 26) to cooperate with the company's new raw materials and packaging printing industry from Austria, Roxcel Group, an organization valued at $15 million. Managing Director Tony Wenas of APRIL said that signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was held in London this past Wednesday (April 20).
The signing of this MoU was part of the working visit of President Jokowi to several countries in Europe on April 18-22 to strengthen strategic cooperation with international partners. According to Wenas, the involvement from APRIL in working to manage the visit of the President to Europe as well as the signing of the MoU with the paper company in Austria demonstrates that the Indonesian pulp and paper industry is now becoming one of the priority industries of Indonesia with what he calls "international confidence".
"European markets now strongly believe that the industrial tree plantations in Indonesia have been managed sustainably and responsibly," Wenas said. He was alluding to reasons investors in raw paper products should want to consider their fast growing, densely managed renewable forests to supply affordable, sustainable materials.
Wenas concluded in his statement that the new agreement of cooperation with Roxcel was made to help further strengthen market penetration as APRIL seeks to improve exports to Europe.
