Jörgen Lindquist has been appointed president of Södra Wood, Sweden, following his position as interim president of the business area since March 14, 2016.
"Jörgen Lindquist has an extensive background with international experience, and will be an asset in our continued efforts to improve the long-term profitability of Södra Wood," said Lars Idermark, president and CEO.
Lindquist joined Södra in autumn 2015 as CFO with responsibility for IT and purchasing. He is now stepping down from his role as CFO with responsibility for IT, but retaining his responsibility for purchasing. Peter Karlsson, corporate controller in the Södra Treasury Unit, has been appointed Interim CFO with responsibility for IT, replacing Lindquist. The process to recruit a new CFO has commenced.
"I have full respect for the mission of turning a negative result into long-term, sustained profitability. At the same time, I see many opportunities and a very exciting journey ahead," said Lindquist.
Lindquist has an MBA degree, and studied at Växjö and Lund Universities. Prior to joining Södra, he was employed at IKEA where he has spent the past five years as CFO and interim president of the Group's industrial division, Swedspan International. Before that, Jörgen was responsible for IKEA's establishment of a new furniture industry in the U.S. He has also served as CFO and VP of the Axis Group and held various senior financial positions in the chemical and packaging industries.
The changes will take effect immediately.
