The TAPPI Introduction to Corrugated Course will be held at the Hyatt Place of Atlanta in the city metro area (Norcross, Ga., USA) located near TAPPI headquarters. This introductory to intermediate level course will cover:
- The corrugating process, with the focus on corrugating equipment and operations, and how to achieve a stronger bond between the liner and medium
- Linerboard and medium properties and tests; how these relate to the final box performance
- Overview of linerboard and medium mill manufacturing.
Jon Porter, the course chair, has more thanj 30 years of technical training experience designing, building, and delivering technical training in several different media formats for stand-up, group-lock step, and self-paced programs with an emphasis on adult learning. Jon is a TAPPI member, serves on the Standards Committee, and is one of the lead instructors for several TAPPI corrugated courses.
This course is a full day dedicated to corrugated with an emphasis on "how it works" - targeting personnel who desire a solid working knowledge on corrugator operations, quality inspections, process troubleshooting, and improving runnability. The course is a perfect primer for anyone planning on attending the Advanced Bonding Course, which will occur immediately following this one.
