Appleton Coated Tweaks Utopia Premium Silk Cover Line

 

Appleton Coated (Combined Locks, Wis., USA) announced this week that Utopia Premium Silk 130-lb. and 150-lb. covers are now being made in the USA. 150 lb is in stock now and available to order. 130-lb. will be a rolling transition – this means that European-made 130-lb. will be sold until depleted, then replaced with USA-made product on a part-by-part basis.

Additionally, the company announced the discontinuation of the European-made Premium Silk covers as well as Premium Ivory Silk in all basis weights. While these items are no longer being manufactured or supported by Arjowiggins, available inventories of these products will be sold until gone.

• New Part Numbers for 150 lb items – new part numbers for 130 lb will be announced once they are in stock
• The new 130 and 150 lb Premium Silk covers are pasted, not single-ply
• European Premium Silk 130 lb will be sold until depleted and replaced by the USA-made 130 lb
• Standard –  no upcharge: Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) certified (FSC® C007796) and manufactured with Green Power – Green-e® certified electricity
• Premium text and cover (other than 130, 150, & Ivory) have been made at our Mill since 2009
• U2:XG Ivory Matte is a good substitute for Premium Ivory customers
• All discontinued parts will be sold until stocks are depleted.
