The Handbook For Pulp and Paper Technologists (The SMOOK Book), is by far the best-selling text to introduce the entire technology of pulp and paper manufacture. This week, information was released by TAPPI PRESS for the first time detailing the chapters dealing with pulping.
Chapters on pulping include:
- Characteristics of Wood and Wood Pulp Fibers (including sections on Wood Species Identification and the Effect of Fiber Structure on Fiber and Paper Properties)
- Overview of Pulping Methodology (including sections on Pulpwood Measurement and Chip Handling and Storage)
- Mechanical Pulping (Including sections on Thermomechanical Pulping and Heat Recovery)
- Sulfite Pulping (including sections on Process Description, Operation and Control of Cooking and Future Prospects for Sulfite Pulping)
