The Industrial Engineer provides technical support to a designated operating department to reduce costs, improve process capability, improve quality and productivity and reduce variability. Ensures the operation functions efficiently and in compliance with all associated environmental permits, laws and regulations as well as mill standard policies and procedures.Provides coordination with other departments, contractors and engineers/consultants on improvement projects.This plus any and all other duties as assigned by their supervisor.
- BS Degree in technical field, preferably Industrial Engineering or Pulp and Paper Technology.
- Minimum one year of experience in industrial engineering and/or manufacturing. Warehouse experience related to packaging is preferred, as well as experience in a union environment
- Basic engineering knowledge of discrete manufacturing operations, evaluating equipment efficiencies, throughput and cycle times, general equipment design and process design, reprocessing of waste materials and cost justification process for capital expenditures.
