Glatfelter Announces New VP of Internal Auditing

Glatfelter (York, Pa., USA) earlier this week announced a key leadership addition in their corporate headquarters located in York. John Stachowiak has joined the company as the VP of internal audit and will be responsible to Richard Ill, Audit Committee chairperson and John Jacunski, EVP, CFO and president, Specialty Papers Division, for implementing an effective internal audit program at Glatfelter.
In making this announcement, Jacunski said that "John is an experienced leader who has a track record of success in developing strategic audit plans, building effective audit teams, and assessing key global risks. We are pleased to have him on the Glatfelter Team and look forward to having John’s leadership to help further improve our governance as well as operating efficiency."
As VP of Internal Audit, Stachowiak will assume responsibility for leading the design and implementation of the worldwide internal audit program for Glatfelter. He will provide leadership and direction to the Internal Audit staff and will serve as an internal consultant to business leadership on technical, operations, systems, and financial control matters. In addition, he will strategically assess operational and financial control issues including risks and will work with senior leadership to determine appropriate mitigation strategies.
John Stachowiak brings 28 years of internal audit experience to Glatfelter. Most recently, he served as VP, Internal Audit with The Hershey Co. where he was responsible for providing corporate governance of the company’s global internal control environment. Prior to joining The Hershey Co., Stachowiak served as an audit manager for Coopers & Lybrand, now PwC, and worked as an accountant at Highmark Blue Shield. Stachowiak holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Pennsylvania State University and is a CPA, certified fraud examiner, certified internal auditor, and certified quality assessment reviewer.
