Frank X. Swietlik, III was GM of Pulp Dryers and Baling at Valmet. He was a TAPPI member since 2005. Most recently, he was a member of the Gulf Coast Local Section and served on the Water Removal Committee. He had previously been a member of the Southeastern TAPPI Local Section.
He was born in Milwaukee, Wis., USA, but had lived in the Atlanta, Ga., area for the past 12 years.
Frank Swietlik will be remembered by many in the industry and those around it.
"I first met Frank at Beloit Corp. a long time ago. I arranged his travel. I still was arranging his travel until he passed away. We had many discussions through the years about art museums and places to go and what to see at the many locations of first Beloit Corp., then Valmet, then Metso, and finally Valmet again. I last saw Frank 16 years ago, but we spoke so often that I felt like I knew him better than some friends I see every day. He had such a compassion for others. He did speak of his daughters all the time and always was in such a great mood when it was time for a trip to Dallas..." commented Michele Barbera, a friend from Adelman Travel Group.
Valmet will be making a donation to the American Heart Association in Frank's honor.
