Papersource Hawaii Shuts Down, Auctioning Assets

Papersource Hawaii (Kapolei, Hawaii, USA) the largest wholesale distributor of paper products in the state with such noted clients as Dole Foods, Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, and Hawaiian Sun, is shutting down after 18 years in business and auctioning off its assets, Pacific Business News (Honolulu, Hawaii) reported late this past week.Oahu Auctions began an online auction this past Thursday to liquidate assets at Papersource’s 80,000 sq. ft. warehouse and offices at the Campbell Industrial Park in Kapolei. Items include warehouse equipment, office furniture, and fixtures.
Papersource, which was founded in 1998 by Richard and Marianna Meachen, distributes such paper goods as corrugated boxes, packing materials, printing-paper products, paper cups, paper bags, and a mixture of other paper products.
It also sourced and warehoused paper products such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and other janitorial supplies for the state of Hawaii. The company’s product line also included cleaning supplies and sanitation products.
Warehouse equipment including multiple forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment will also be included in the auction. Office furniture — a mixture of desks, credenzas, filing cabinets, executive chairs, bookcases, and shelving — will also be on the auction block.
The online auction will run through through today (September 15). Oahu Auctions said if it was a live auction, it would take more than 20 hours because so many items are up for grabs.
