U.S. Containerboard Output Edges up in August

U.S. containerboard production was 0.2% higher in August 2016 compared with August 2015. The m/m average daily production was 2% higher compared with July 2016, according to the AF&PA (Washington, D.C., USA) August 2016 U.S. Containerboard Statistics Report issued this past week.
The containerboard operating rate for August increased to 96.4%, while the ytd operating rate of 94.7% was 1.5 percentage points lower than August 2015.
