Alness Named SVP, Americas for Forest Products Resins

Hexion Inc., Columbus, Ohio, USA, this week announced that Mark Alness has been named SVP, Americas Forest Products. Alness’ expanded responsibilities include all operations and commercial activities in North and South America for the forest products business within the Forest Products Resins Division.

Alness previously served as VP, North America Forest Products, a position he has held since 2006. He joined Borden Chemical Inc., a predecessor company of Hexion, in 1978 and has held increasingly larger roles during his career, all of which were focused on engineered wood products. 

Alness holds a bachelor’s degree in forest products engineering from the University of Minnesota. He will remain located in the company’s Seattle, Wash., office.
