European Linerboard Producers Announce March 1 Price Hike

Several kraft linerboard producers have announced price increases, effective March 1, 2017. SCA in Europe has announced an increase for all kraftliner grades, It is raising prices of brown and white-top liner by EUR 60 per metric ton, due to an increase in market demand for kraftliner.
Smurfit Kappa, Ireland, also announced a EUR 60 per metric ton increase for kraftliner. The company said that brown and white-top kraftliner grades across Europe would be affected by the hike. The Mediterranean region was excluded from the increase.
Finally, Mondi Europe this past week announced a EUR 50 per metric ton price hike for brown kraftliner, also effective March 1.
