Sappi Hikes Prices for European Coated/Uncoated Fine Papers

Sappi Europe this week announced a price increase of 8% for all European coated and uncoated fine paper business, both sheets and reels, effective March 15, 2017. For the Sappi Europe grades exported outside of Europe, the company will selectively apply a price increase based on specific local circumstances.
The company noted that the sudden and continuing sharp rise in input costs and the consequently squeezed profit margins make corrective pricing measures inevitable as Sappi Europe’s Graphics business becomes unsustainable at current price levels.
