Chopin joined after an extensive career with Dow Chemical Co., where he was a global development leader in the Dow Chemical Packaging and Specialty Plastics group. In this role, he was responsible for the global PacXpert™ development team as well as the development of sustainable packaging solutions in North America. With nearly 20 years of experience in plastic and polymer applications, Chopin has commercialized technologies in the automotive, construction, and consumer packaging market segments, including commercializing sealant, re-closable, and recycle packaging technologies.
Chopin has received multiple R&D 100 awards, a 2016 Trashie award from the Sustainable Packaging Coalition, and is the holder of 15 patents ranging from plastic packaging to biochemistry. He earned a B.S. degree in chemistry from Spring Hill College, and a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from Florida State University.
