Sonoco Alcore Starts up New A.Celli Rewinder at Turin Mill

Startup of the A.Celli Paper rewinder model AC842, in a 2,700-mm format and a production speed of 1,200 m/min, sold last year to Sonoco Alcore for installation at its Ciriè Paper Mill in the Provincia of Turin (Italy), was concluded as scheduled on Jan. 16. 2017, following the signing of the acceptance certificate. Sonoco Alcor is part of the international group Sonoco Products Co. of Hartsville, S.C., USA, one of the largest diversified global providers of a variety of consumer packaging, industrial products, protective packaging and displays and packaging supply chain services.
In just eight months, the order, that included not only the rewinder but also a complete final product handling system (overhead crane, wagon, conveyor belts) was built, installed, and started up.
"The choice of A.Celli Paper for the order of this new paper rewinder was well repaid by matching deadlines on deliveries and installation. The project has been very well managed by the mill team, in cooperation with the A Celli Team all along the entire operation, from the signature of the order to the start-up of the machine," said Massimo Basta, plant and sales manager of Sonoco Alcore. "Satisfaction was further confirmed by reaching our target in established time frames."
