Arbor Day is April 28, 2017. In connection with the Arbor Day Foundation, Lincoln, Neb., USA, the Nature Conservancy, Arlington, Va., Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC), Whistler, B.C., Canada, and other forestry related associations, several major forestry companies and groups as well as pulp and paper companies will be announcing sustainability and other activities and events to recognize and co-celebrate Abor Day during the coming month. These companies and groups will also be announcing efforts to preserve and expand forest lands across the U.S.
This and the next four issues of Over the Wire will contain several articles in the Weekly Spotlight section that update and explore key Arbor Day activities of interest to the pulp and paper industry. Readers can also send Arbor Day information and news reports by email for inclusion in these weekly focuses through the April 27, 2017 issue.
