China’s BHK Pulp Imports up 48% y/y; BSK Pulp Imports Decline 5%

China’s April 2017 BHK (bleached hardwood kraft) pulp imports were up 48% y/y and up 41% year to date.  April BSK (bleached softwood kraft) pulp imports were down 5% y/y and up 8% year to date.

The following table, based on data maintained by the China Customs Bureau, shows BSK and BHK pulp imports for April 2017 and the first four months of this year form key areas of the world.

The graph below the table shows China’s monthly imports of paper grade pulp from 2007 through April 2017.
