The TAPPI Young Professionals Division Executive Council (YPEC) serves as the launch pad for the industry’s rising stars. The existing council members —Josh Reich, Greif, Inc., YP Division Chair; Sudip Neupane, WestRock, Division Vice Chair; and Matias Gonzalez, EDT, Division Secretary—are go-getters who are eager to lead and spread their limitless enthusiasm for the future of the Young Professionals Division.
One recent accomplishment that they are excited to announce is the appointment of six additional directors to the Division Executive Council.
Sarah Garchinsky, Solenis, has been assigned to the role of Director of Division Relations, where she will work with other divisions and committees to ensure active participation from YPs in various activities and events.
Jaclyn Epstein, Mica Corp., the Director of Communications, will work with session chairs and event leaders to gain feedback and insight on events from the perspective of young professionals, as well as work with marketing to support event promotions.
Evan Bruner, GreenBlue, and Anthony LaBanca, Green Bay Packaging, will serve as the Co-Directors of Member Relations, assisting in onboarding efforts of incoming students, as well as work with transitioning graduating YPs to their new TAPPI divisions. In addition, they will manage the YP TAPPI Award.
Ana Meneses, WestRock, and Mike Kohler, Kohler Coating, the Co-Directors of Events, will designate and manage session chairs for events, work with TAPPI leads on YP focus at events, and will pass along recommendations on event improvements.
The Council’s primary focus will be on outreach to YPs at events, training courses, division meetings, and online platforms such as TAPPI Connect, a centralized, online resource for members, consultants, and volunteers to network, share knowledge, problem solve, and collaborate. Finding ways to help YPs build stronger connections and help them succeed in their careers will enhance their personal and professional growth, as well as support the growth of the industry.
The TAPPI Young Professionals Division is the perfect resource for professionals 29 years of age or younger who are looking for a way to advance their career in the pulp, paper, tissue, converting, or related industries. Membership is designed to provide leadership opportunities, offer resources for career advancement, connect young professionals with peers and industry leaders, and supply a wealth of information and technical resources.
