During the summer of 2017, Coldenhove, the Netherlands, reports that it has worked hard to improve operations at its paper mill. One key improvement, the company invested in a new, innovative, and energy-saving pulper.

In cooperation with Voith (Germany) and Veenbouw (the Netherlands), Coldenhoves technical service has been able to realize this profound project. The 25-year-old pulper was removed and after various technical and constructive modifications on site, the new pulper has been installed.

The new pulper ensures a substantial increase (+ 30%) of the production, while the pulp quality remains consistently high. The flow-optimized vat of the pulper, in combination with the eccentrically arranged rotor, generates a perfect turbulence and allow for energy savings of at least 20%, which will reduce the ecological footprint of Coldenhove.

In the meanwhile, the summer break is over, the project has been completed successfully, and the pulper is running properly.

Coldenhove Papier was founded in 1661 in Eerbeek, the Netherlands. It has been an independent family business for more than three centuries, which enabled it to grow into what it is today—a state-of-the-art paper mill that is known for its innovative paper solutions. Coldenhove Papier serves customers around the world. Its product portfolio ranges from traditional paper grades of high quality to patented high-tech digital sublimation transfer paper.
