IP Contributes $1 Million to Assist Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts

International Paper, Memphis, Tenn., USA, has pledged $1 million to support disaster relief efforts in the communities impacted by Hurricane Harvey and Tropical Storm Harvey this past week.
The International Paper Foundation will contribute $750,000 to the American Red Cross chapters in Texas and Louisiana, and will contribute $250,000 to Feeding America. International Paper has established strategic partnerships with these organizations to provide disaster relief in communities where IP employees live and work.
The company has already produced 100,000 boxes, which will be donated to the American Red Cross and Feeding America, who will use them to deliver food, water, and other critical supplies to those in need. IP employs nearly 5,000 team members throughout the two states.
"Our hearts go out to the many families impacted by Hurricane Harvey," said Mark Sutton, chairman and CEO, International Paper. "We know these communities are resilient and hope that our contributions help accelerate relief efforts and the distribution of essential goods."
International Paper mobilizes its people, products and resources to address critical needs in the communities where employees live and work. The company's community engagement efforts include financial contributions, employee volunteering, and product donations focused on addressing four Signature Causes: Hunger, Education, Health and Wellness, and Disaster Relief.
